Be Certain (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is an AI-powered voice assistant that helps you make daily decisions with structured randomness. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application and our website at becertainpro.app.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account using Firebase Authentication, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Apple ID or Google ID (if you sign in with Apple or Google)
• Authentication tokens necessary to maintain your session

Usage Data

As you use the app, we store the following data in your account:

• Rules you create (decision rules with probabilities and options)
• Roll results (outcomes of your randomized decisions)
• Check-in data (whether you followed a roll result)

Voice Recordings

Be Certain uses voice input to create decision rules. When you use the voice feature, your audio is sent to a third-party speech-to-text (STT) service (Cerebras or Groq) for transcription. Audio recordings are processed in real time and are not stored permanently by us or the STT provider. Only the resulting text transcription is retained to create your rule.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Be Certain service
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Store your decision rules, roll history, and check-in data
• Process voice input into text for rule creation
• Manage your subscription status
• Monitor and fix errors and performance issues
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience

Third-Party Services

Be Certain relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Authentication & Firestore)

We use Firebase Authentication to manage user sign-in (email, Apple, and Google) and Cloud Firestore to store your rules, rolls, and check-ins. Firebase is operated by Google and processes data in accordance with the Firebase Privacy Policy.

Sentry (Error Tracking)

We use Sentry to capture and diagnose application errors and performance issues. Sentry may receive crash reports, device metadata, and diagnostic data. No personal content (rules, roll results) is intentionally sent to Sentry. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.

PostHog (Analytics & Session Replay)

We use PostHog to understand how people use Be Certain, including feature usage, session duration, and interaction patterns. PostHog may also be used for session replay to help us improve the user experience. Analytics data is associated with anonymized user identifiers. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat processes transaction data from the Apple App Store and associates it with an anonymized app user ID. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Cerebras & Groq (Speech-to-Text Processing)

Voice input is processed by Cerebras or Groq to convert speech to text. Audio is streamed for real-time transcription and is not permanently stored by these providers. Only the resulting text is retained by Be Certain to create your decision rules.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure via Firebase. We implement the following security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS
• All data is encrypted at rest on Google Cloud servers
• Firestore Security Rules restrict access so that users can only read and write their own data
• Authentication tokens are securely managed by Firebase Authentication

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and all associated data. You can also delete your account directly from the app's Settings screen.
• Export: You can request an export of your data in a portable format.

Children's Privacy

Be Certain is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at wxxedu@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

Website Analytics

Our marketing website at becertainpro.app uses PostHog for analytics. The website uses cookie-less tracking, which means we do not place cookies on your browser for analytics purposes. We collect anonymized usage data such as page views, referral sources, and general device information. No personally identifiable information is collected through website analytics.
